چکیده
Abstract In the frame of CleanSky 2 MONNALISA project, a wind-tunnel campaign is planned to test tail-plane model large passenger aircraft by using different measurement techniques. Wind-tunnel results obtained over systematic series geometries will be used thoroughly validate low-order numerical method based on physical modelling that developed in project evaluate non-linear aerodynamic characteristics lifting surfaces. The present paper describes main infrared thermography measurements performed first entry tune RANS solvers and for fine calibration method.

Flow Field Study Over the Wing of a Fighter-Type Aircraft Model
An extensive experimental investigation to study the flow structure over the wing of a fighter type configuration model has been conducted. The model used for this study was similar to the High Alpha Research Vehicle (HARV) that has been used in various European research centers for studying its force and moment characteristics. Tests were conducted at two subsonic speeds and at low to moderate...
متن کاملinvestigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures
deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
Modeling the Infrared Intensity of a Large Commerical Aircraft Thesis
Measuring the infrared signature of large civilian aircraft has become increasingly important due to the proliferation of man-portable air defense systems (MANPADS) and the increasing threat of their use by terrorists. Because of the range of these shoulderfired weapons, most aircraft flying over 20,000 feet are safe from the threat; however, aircraft taking-off or landing are extremely vulnera...
متن کاملIn-Trim Flight Investigations of a Conceptual Fluidic Thrust-Vectored Unmanned Tail-Sitter Aircraft
The feasibility of using a stand alone Fluidic Thrust-Vectoring (FTV) system for the purpose of longitudinal trim of an unmanned aerial vehicle is the focus of the research presented in this paper. Since the fluidic thrust vectoring requires high pressure secondary air to deflect the engine exhaust gases, this research also provides an analytical toolset for preliminary sizing of a suitable sec...
متن کاملFly-over noise measurements and simulation for a turboprop aircraft
The study of aircraft noise started in earnest in the 1960s, however, the validation of comprehensive noise models for existing commercial aircraft using well-defined experimental data have since produced modest advances. Considerable focus appears to have been placed on aircraft conceptual design, with relatively little effort considering aircraft currently in use, for which we believe there i...
